This week, over 160 ASCE members from across the country met in Washington, D.C. for the 2009 Leadership Training in Government Relations Program (also known as the "Fly-In"). Over the course of the two-day meeting, participants learned about issues affecting civil engineering and how to develop relationships with their elected officials and then put those new skills into practice by visiting their lawmakers on Capitol Hill. ASCE members conducted meetings with over 230 Congressional offices to share the message of the Report Card and other infrastructure needs facing the country.
